Vulcan Post has come a long way from our humble beginnings in August 2013. We’ve grown a simple technology portal into a digital lifestyle platform that keeps you in the know about up-and-coming startups and people who inspire conversations, helping us live life with a digital edge. In these two years, we’ve grown our pageviews to half a million a month, and are now working with great content partners like Yahoo! and AsiaOne.
So to commemorate this second year, we’re holding our first meet-up here in Singapore, where it all started. The Tipping Point is our way of reaching out and talking to the startups and readers that have been part of the Vulcan Post family, and embracing what it means to take a mere idea and tuning it into something more.
Whether you’re an entrepreneur, someone with a fresh idea, or just want to hang out with the Vulcan Post team, join us for a night of drinks, networking, and insights from our esteemed speakers, who will share with us how they grew something incredible from an idea.
Date: 1st July 2015 (Wed)
Location: The Refinery
For our inaugural meet-up, we’ll be tackling the Chicken-And-Egg problem, the classic startup challenge where founders struggle with growing a product and a customer base at the same time. How do you scale a product up? How do you grow a community? These are the questions we hope to find answers to at this event.
These are the speakers you can expect:
Spotify is one of the leading music streaming platforms in Singapore and the most talked-about music platform in the world. With 15 million paying users worldwide, Spotify is growing its presence steadily in Southeast Asia from its headquarters here in Singapore.
You can find out more at our Spotify Brand Page.
Locally-grown startup Paktor is Singapore’s startup success story in the making. Since their launch in 2013, they’ve grown to become Southeast Asia’s largest dating app with more than 1.5 million registered users, over 2 billion swipes, and 40 million matches.
You can find out more at our Paktor Brand Page.
The Platform Collective
What started as a NTU Final Year Project has now branched out into an “informal third-party place” where four university students aim to create a community of startups in Singapore. Their goal: to encourage bartering and collaboration in the startup scene, building a shared-economy of entrepreneurs willing and able to support one another.
The Tipping Point will be held at the amazing The Refinery, the grill/bar/community space for creatives. Each ticket comes with one free drink and a great opportunity to meet other like-minded folks with the same goal — to make great ideas come true.
So come and join us at The Tipping Point! We can’t wait to meet you, and you get to meet the Vulcan Post team up close for the first time in Singapore!
