When it comes to online shopping store, the name 11street should ring a bell among avid shopaholics in Malaysia. 11street was first founded in South Korea in 2008, and it expanded to Turkey and Indonesia before stepping into the Malaysian market last year and currently it is one of the largest online marketplaces in the country.

On the 8th of September, they announced their inaugural participation in the nation’s biggest cyber sale event, #MYCyberSale 2015, organised by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), from September 28 to October 2, 2015.

In this #MYCyberSale 2015 event, 11street strives to cater for both shoppers’ needs and sellers’ markets through its participation. Having said that, this is an apt way for 11street to help augmenting the e-commerce landscape in Malaysia, and this step is of paramount importance to encourage local SME sellers to partake in this event.

This year’s #MYCyberSale is expected to surpass last year’s achievement, which according to statistics released by MDeC, a total of 4.7 million Malaysian visitors (16% of populations) made 77,000 online orders during the 3-day sales period, of which 57% of them accessed the site via mobile devices.

In addition to this, #MYCyberSale will also come as a form of an app to attract both local and international consumers. In light of this development, it will make online shopping looks more attractive and convenient. In my opinion, this is a good move by the organisers of #MYCyberSale as this is after all a mobile driven society. And seeing as more than half of last year’s visitors accessed the site via mobile device, hence the necessity and convenience of such an app.

11street’s Vice President of Merchandising Division, Bruce Lim said, “A national online event like this is not to be missed as it would definitely spur online shopping demands in the country.”

As the e-commerce landscape in Malaysia is still in a growing business, #MYCyberSale sets a record for being a national online event in the hope that will change how Malaysians perceive online shopping afterwards.

He also added that as 11street being a leading global e-commerce player, they are committed to empower sellers with intensive industry insights to meet market demands. “As a result, sellers will be able to broaden their market reach and increase by leveraging on our resources and promotions strategically at this event,” according to him.

Likewise, this is an exciting news for shoppers too, where they will find a series of discounted products, deals and attractive giveaways for #MYCyberSale 2015. Shoppers can expect deals that are offered from a variety of categories, such as fashion, home and living, books, health and beauty, electronics and gadgets, and many more.

Additionally, the ‘Shocking Deal’ feature guarantees to surprise consumers with more great offers at significantly lowest price, and this is one of the ways they’ve employed to entice more Malaysian shoppers to shop online.

Not to mention, there is also an exclusive promotion whereby Malaysian consumers can download free shopping credits in Malaysian Ringgit from the 14th to 27th of September. For consumers who log on to 11street via online and mobile platforms, they will be rewarded with up to 50% bonus coupons.

It is encouraging to note how certain parties are adapting to the evolution of the shopping industry and having a sale with valid discounts and promotions to encourage people to grow along with the e-commerce landscape. To partake in this online shopping experience, you can visit the MYCyberSale website or 11street.my.
