With finals looming, I still vividly remember how my buddies and I would gather at Starbucks to study because you then have a peer to consult your questions with.. Like many others, we were told to vacate the table because it was ‘peak hour’ and studying wasn’t allowed. Home, on the other hand, was just not a conducive environment because there was always something to do.

Enter The Study Area (TSA).

TSA is a place where you don’t have to worry about occupying a table for too long and get some actual studying or work done. You can actually use the space for, well, studying as the name suggests.  ‘It first started off as a joke, but things led from one thing to another and before we knew it, TSA was born in May 2015. Our motivation has always been to expand our horizons and be part of the local entrepreneur’s and student’s journey,’ Goh, founder of TSA shared with Vulcan Post.

Here’s a look at the interior of TSA:

Facilities

TSA’s concept is simple, a desk space for rent at a flat no-frills rate for a specific block of time. A booking will gain you access to High Speed Wifi, a personal locker, coffee, printing and scanning facilities, CCTV security monitoring and each table has its own table lamp and electrical socket – goodbye awkward ‘have you finished charging?’ situations.

Similar to full-fledged co-working spaces around the island and aside from renting out desk spaces, TSA has other spaces for rent like classrooms or seminar rooms that can seat up to 40 attendees, and equipped with a huge 65” LED TV for presentations.

If you need a breather from the studying or working, there is also the healthy option of hitting the on-premises gym or swimming pool which you also have access to.

How Do I Get A Table?

There are three ways to place your table booking, all of which are simple and would not take more than a couple of minutes, either make your booking via their website, email or Facebook Messenger. TSA offers three time slots, 9am to 9pm, 9pm to 9am or a full 24 hour slot starting from 9am to 9am the next day. Prices are rather reasonable, starting from $10 or $20 for the 12 hour slots, depending if you are a student or an adult.

You can find TSA located at Oxley Bizhub 61 Ubi Road 1 #02-34, Singapore 408727, which is a short 5 minute walk from Tai Seng MRT. They are open 24/7, unless otherwise stated.
