Most of us already spend countless hours scrolling through Instagram on a daily basis, and if we were paid as low as RM1 for every minute that we spend on the social media site, we would most likely be able to quit our day jobs and bask in the sun all day long. While Netflix is not asking us to quit our day job just yet, they are offering Instagrammers a chance to earn bucks for their effort spent on the app.

This is because the media giant is offering an actual paying job to those who have a special talent for taking pictures. Stated on their webpage, Netflix said, “We’re looking for TV and movie fans with a talent for taking pictures. Choose photos that show off your interests or passions.”

It’s really as simple as that, and they would foot the bill for the 2 week gig, by covering travel expenses around Europe and the Middle East. Not only that, they are also paying USD $4000 for the job which requires these Grammasters to photograph the sets of popular Netflix original shows and movies.

It might sound too good to be true, but perhaps the only aspect of that statement which is real is that it really is “too good” to fathom. In order to apply for the dream job of countless Insta-lovers all around the world, all one needs to do is to hashtag their top 3 photos with #grammasters3 by March 6.

Currently, there are over 200,000 entries for the hashtag and it is evident that the competition is stiff. From scenic locations to portrait photography and even selfies, one out of the many talents will certainly be living their dream job soon, and it’s really not too hard to imagine that it could be a Malaysian too, from the pool of local talent that we have.

It’s nice to see how diverse jobs can be these days as well, and no longer does one have to surrender their 9-5’s behind an old desk. Netflix, among other media giants, are shaping how the next generation of jobs will be like for our predecessors. If it’s anything like the job description of a grammaster, then we’re really all for it!
