Earlier this year, Cheryl Yeoh the CEO of Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Center (MaGIC) stepped down from her position at MaGIC.

Since then many, including us at Vulcan Post, were curious on what she will be pursuing next.

In a Facebook post today, Cheryl announced that she has started a modelling agency – Cheryl Yeoh & Co, and has signed on a big magazine contract.

Here is the original post:

Cheryl may be a powerhouse, being the name that was once synonymous with MaGIC, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that she has good genes on her side as well. The post was published on April 1, which coincides with April Fool’s Day but we’d like to believe that it isn’t a joke, though it is likely to be one.

In fact, we’re not the only ones who hope that this is Cheryl’s next career move. Some comments state, “All the best” and “What a turn – but that’s multi talent”. The others however weren’t easily fooled and even teased Cheryl for the timing of her timely update.

“Congrats and all the best!!! Stage name April?”, one said, and the other, “Oh my god you had me fooled there for a moment”. Cheryl may have dropped some leads though in her reply to a comment saying, “Wasn’t your April Fool’s joke a few years back also about becoming a model? Get original, girl!”

Cheryl’s reply to that was, “Gal… I’ve made a lot of new friends in the past 2 years… an oldie but a goodie if I can still fool so many!”

Only time will tell if Cheryl was plain fooling around or is seriously looking to emulate the characters from Asia’s Next Top Model. But seeing since Cheryl herself is no stranger to photoshoots, with her strong reputation in the startup industry, perhaps this potential prank could possibly be a reality in the future? We can only hope.
