You’ve probably heard by now of the announcement that Apple Pay is now fully supported by five more major banks in Singapore. With DBS, POSB, Standard Chartered, OCBC, and UOB now on board the bandwagon, Apple Pay has more or less secured potentially 80% of cardholders eligible to use the service – provided they own an iPhone.

Not sure if you should start using it now? We’ve previously given you five reasons why you should heavily consider this new contactless payment method, and with Singaporeans citing faster transactions and the ability to go cashless as the top two benefits to payment without a card.

Now we have some more compelling reasons to share with you as to why you should start using Apple Pay immediately. With over tens of thousands of locations around Singapore supporting the feature, soon you can leave the house with just your phone!

Supermarkets And Convenience Stores

Grab your early morning paper or a quick snack and drink on the way to the office. You can also do your weekly grocery shopping with the convenience of Apple Pay in your hands, with no more fiddling around for small change when making payment – just tap and go.

You’ll probably have all your bases covered with the stores below. All of them are familiar names in anyone’s neighourhood, so you should be able to use Apple Pay immediately.

In conjunction with the news, the banks now on board are offering attractive promotions to entice more of their cardholders to try out Apple Pay:

    • DBS Bank & POSB: 20% Add your DBS/POSB Visa & MasterCard Credit and Debit Cards to Apple Pay and be rewarded with 20% cashback from now till 24 August 2016.
    • UOB: First 10,000 customers paying with a UOB Visa Credit or Debit card using Apple Pay will get S$10 cash rebate
    • Standard Chartered: Enjoy 20% CashBack when you pay using your Standard Chartered Card with Apple Pay.
    • OCBC: Enjoy 3% rebate on all your purchases made with OCBC Cards using Apple Pay
