Instagram trends are ever-changing.

From minimalist, wide profile shots of the country you’re traveling in, or a top-down flat lay of your lunch, the aesthetic that’s in today maybe just be uncool tomorrow.

Right now, it’s all about showing off your streetwear cred.

Hypebeast has inspired an entire fashion movement that has enveloped social media with photos of rooftops and alleys as millennials flaunt their latest kicks.

Armed with the Huawei P10 Plus, we set out to storm the streets and create for ourselves Hypebeast-inspired art that’s the envy of Hypebaes everywhere.

But why did we use the Huawei P10 Plus?

Here’s 4 reasons why.

1. The Power To Isolate Your Style

Co-engineered with Leica, the Huawei P10 Plus has the SUMMILUX-H lenses on both its cameras.

Better still, both cameras have an f/1.8 aperture which you can take advantage of to devastating effect, blurring everything else in the background and shining the spotlight on you.

Of course, if you want a little more of your scene to be in focus, you can dial down the aperture through the camera menu.

Either way, you can be sure that the OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) will always help keep you in focus no matter the situation.

2. Capture #Mood In True Monochrome

Dual-lensed smartphone cameras in the market today usually have one standard focal length camera, and another that is either a zoom or a wide-angle lens.

The Huawei P10 Plus, though, employs a completely different approach. While both cameras have the same focal length, one camera is your regular colour-capturing variety while the other is a dedicated monochrome camera.

What this means is that you now have the ability to capture details in a smartphone like never before!

The tonality that the secondary camera captures the world with will have you appreciating simple aesthetics in a profound way – one that only a picture without colours can highlight.

No filters needed here for sure!

3. Getting High On Dynamic Range

Scenes where there are large differences between bright and dark areas can be a jarring nuisance for photographers.

The Huawei P10 Plus is able to capture vivid images in high dynamic range without breaking a sweat, while maintaining its highly artistic value.

Highlights and shadows are masterfully retained, Leica-style, and the end result lets you view every single detail that would otherwise be lost in any other smartphone camera.

Zoom into the shadowed areas to unveil the background which still retains its level of detail.

Meanwhile, the patterns on your white #hypebeast t-shirt still remain clearly visible under bright light.

4. Paint The Night Away

Can’t find any neon signboards to take your pictures with? Fret not, the Huawei P10 Plus equips you with all you need to create your very own unique piece of art.

In a feature that is still a rarity even among other flagship smartphones, the P10 Plus features the underrated Light Painting feature.

In the hands of anyone, you can now produce #instaworthy photos that look like they came right out of an Adidas commercial – all with just a touch of the screen on a Huawei P10 Plus.

Create your own little fantasy of lights as you strike a pose for the camera, wearing the latest fashion accessories.

A Studio In Your Pocket

Huawei P10 Plus

When Huawei said that they had literally packed a studio in your pocket with the P10 Plus, they weren’t kidding.

Our conversation with Singaporean professional photographers Richard Chen and Ashley Mak certainly give credibility to that claim.

Also, you, our readers, voted for the Huawei P10 Plus when we pitted it against the Samsung Galaxy S8+!

The Huawei P10 Plus definitely has our stamp of approval, and we can’t wait to see what they will come up with next.
