Malaysian health startup, Doctor2U has kicked off 2018 with a bang.

After a long run of impressive achievements in 2017, which include the launch of its on-demand ambulance feature, service expansion into the State of Penang, and strategic partnership with giant tech company Microsoft, Doctor2U is ushering the new year in with another huge corporate tie-up.

Yesterday, the team of ambitious youths announced their partnerships with Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB) and Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PBTB) respectively.

As companies with multi-million customers and multi-billion dollar worth of assets, both PAMB and PBTB have long been leaders in the insurance industry.

No More Waiting & Long Queues

The partnerships will see customers of PAMB and PBTB be able to undergo pre-health screenings in their homes.
Normally when a customer wishes to undergo pre-policy health screening services, he or she would have to take time off from work, travel to the clinic or hospital, and be subjected in potentially long queues to have their samples taken.

With Doctor2U’s mobile medical examination services, the customer can now stay at home as the Doctor2U team brings the health screening services to their doorsteps.

Fully qualified doctors will be attending to the customers at their desired locations to perform the necessary tests on them. The test results will then be submitted back by the Doctor2U team to Prudential for purposes of the actual policy underwriting.

“This partnership is very exciting for both Prudential and Doctor2U as we are making health screening services available to our customers without them having to leave their home. This is not only convenient for them but they are also able to get their policy more quickly as it increases the efficiency of the underwriting process. This is also aligned with our commitment to provide a world class customer experience,” said Wong Eng Teng, Chief Operations Officer of PAMB.

This arrangement provides convenience to the customers as they no longer need to go through the hassle of the long travels to or waits at clinics or hospitals.

“Services like these are often only accessible to a certain class or group of people and it can also be costly. In our effort to provide affordable and best quality healthcare at the comfort of your own home, we’re happy to announce that through this collab, we’ll be sending selected Doctor2U services to not just our customers and agents, but also to their families and loved ones at a very special price,” said Mr. Ahmir ud Deen, Chief Operations Officer of PBTB.

Tapping into PAMB and PBTB’s over 3-million strong customer base has allowed Doctor2U to further realise its goal of transforming healthcare delivery by making it a more seamless experience for all sides.

To date, Doctor2U has over 450,000 users and over 4,000 active daily users.

Having entered into a strategic partnership with Microsoft Malaysia earlier this year, Doctor2U embraces cutting-edge technology in the provision of all its services.

Garvy Beh, CEO of Doctor2U commented, “Microsoft’s data security infrastructure provides our app with an added layer of trust and reliability, which is so important in the healthcare industry.”

In addition, Doctor2U is proud to announce a special promotion.

There will be an exclusive offering of discounted rates on the Doctor Home Visit feature to the 3 million customers and agents of PAMB and PBTB.

This exclusive promotion which is set to run from 1 January 2018 to the end of the year will see eligible individuals and their family members being able to request for a fully registered doctor to their doorsteps at only RM80 for a day request and RM150 for a night request.

Both initiatives are in line with Doctor2U’s aim of democratising modern healthcare delivery by making it more accessible and more affordable through technology.

Garvy Beh, CEO of Doctor2U, stressed how these partnerships with PAMB and PBTB will help bring the startup one step closer to its goal of integrating all aspects of healthcare onto one single platform.

“We are already partnering and serving major governmental bodies and industry players in the region and will continue to push ourselves hard to revolutionise the healthcare delivery landscape in the region. The collaborations with Prudential Assurance and Prudential BSN mean a lot to us and we are very grateful indeed to be able to enhance the services within the insurance industry.”
