The Pokemon Company announced today that it’s developing a new gaming app that lets you tracks a users’ sleep and turn it into gameplay.

It’s called Pokemon Sleep, and the company suggests that you could even continue training your Pokemon even in your sleep!

At a new conference in Tokyo, the firm talked about how Pokemon GO made walking into entertainment and how they wanted to do the same thing with sleep.

“The concept of this game is for players to look forward to waking up every morning,” said Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company.

Pokemon Sleep will track things like how long you sleep and when you wake up, and somehow gamify that in a Pokemon-like way.

Not much details were revealed, except that it’s slated to launch in 2020.

Pokemon Sleep will utilise a new device being developed by Nintendo called the Pokemon GO Plus+.

This new device looks like a disc-shaped Pokeball and behaves like the existing Pokemon GO Plus and Pokeball Plus hardware.

At night, it can be used to track a player’s sleeping time, which it can send via Bluetooth to the smartphone.

To mark this upcoming launch, you can find a sleeping Snorlax inside Pokemon Go (for a very limited time), so be sure to pop in there now for a chance to capture it!
