Since the opt-in programme for the AstraZeneca (AZ) COVID-19 vaccines was released, Malaysians have become not just aware, but more eager to be vaccinated. Within an hour, 956,609 slots for AZ were taken up by Malaysians during the second phase of the registration period on May 26, 2021.
This goes to show that Malaysians are stepping up and playing our parts to achieve herd immunity as soon as the opportunity arises. Businesses that struggled throughout the pandemic are also taking this time to show their appreciation to those getting vaccinated.
Hence, we’ve compiled a list of brands that are giving away freebies and promos for those who’ve been vaccinated or have registered for it. Do note that all the deals below are limited to 1 claim per person, and are offered to those who’ve received either the first or full doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
This list has been organised from the newest to the oldest deals we were able to find.
For those who have been vaccinated
Cheppenim’s Kitchen
Local restaurant Cheppenim’s Kitchen is offering discounts on their dishes for those who’ve been vaccinated.
The deal: Claim a 15% discount on your 2nd item. The deal is applicable for takeaway orders from their outlet in Souka Bake Shop in SS15.
How to redeem: Show them your MySejahtera vaccine status or vaccine card.
Validity: The promotion is available from June 8 to 14, 2021. While it states “8/4/21 until 14/4/21” on their IG post, its team told Vulcan Post that this was a typo.
myBurgerLab
In an effort to encourage Malaysians to get vaccinated, myBurgerLab (mBL) has started its own “I’m Vaccinated” campaign on its myBurgerLab+ app. If you’ve been vaccinated with at least a first dose, you can get a voucher from the brand. For the time being, this deal can only be claimed when you order in-store for takeaways.
The deal: Vaccinated Malaysians will get an RM10 mBL voucher via their app you can download on Google Play or the App Store.
How to redeem: Once you’ve downloaded the app and have registered for an account, upload a sceenshot of your MySejahtera vaccine details, and a voucher will be provided in-app.
Validity: The deal is live on the myBurgerLab+ App now and valid until further notice, according to a press release.
Bean Jr.
Appreciative to those who’ve done their part to help the nation reach herd immunity, Bean Jr. is giving out a free bowl of its dessert to those who’ve been vaccinated. As dine-ins aren’t allowed during MCO, this deal is only valid for takeaways.
The deal: You can claim a free bowl of Tau Fu Fah when you prove your vaccination status at their outlets.
How to redeem: To claim, you must first show your vaccination status on MySejahtera to their service crew and join Bean Jr. ‘s membership programme.
Validity: From June 1, 2021 and has no expiration date, as stated in their post.
Zig Zach KL
Zig Zach KL is a hair salon located in Bandar Utama that’s offering a discount to individuals who’ve been vaccinated. Its team told us that this deal will only be meant for their hair bleaching service and treatments.
The deal: 20% off your total bill for Malaysians who’ve been vaccinated. To be eligible for this offer, you must spend a minimum of RM350 on their services.
How to redeem: Show them your vaccine card or MySejahtera vaccine status.
Validity: This deal is valid until July 31, 2021.
Llaollao
The well-loved frozen yogurt brand is giving away a special discount if you’ve been vaccinated and are purchasing their products in-store. Llaollao has also clarified that the promo is offered as long as you’ve received your first dose of the vaccine.
The deal: 15% discount off your bill when you purchase their items in-store.
How to redeem: Present your vaccination status on MySejahtera.
Validity: From May 26 to August 31, 2021.
JIBRIL
If you were ever a student in SS15 like me, you’d be aware of the salted egg yolk butter chicken brand, JIBRIL, behind a hidden door. To support those who are vaccinated, the brand is giving out a free plate of their best-selling dish that’s valid for takeaways only.
The deal: 1 free Salted Egg Butter Chicken. Also available at their sister brand, MONA by JIBRIL.
How to redeem: Present proof of your vaccination through MySejahtera or vaccine card.
Validity: N/A.
Don’t Yell At Me
With 6 branches around KL and PJ, you can head to the nearest Don’t Yell At Me store to claim your free refreshing cup of tea if you’ve been vaccinated.
The offer: 1 free Wintermelon Chrysanthemum drink for those who’ve been vaccinated.
How to redeem: Flash your MySejahtera app or vaccination card at any of their 6 outlets around KL and PJ.
Validity: They’re only giving out 10,000 cups in total on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Churittos Fresh Mex
Churittos Fresh Mex is giving out a free meal as long as you’ve been vaccinated. You can claim this deal from their Publika and SS15 branches.
The deal: They’re giving out a free set meal consisting of their signature non-alcoholic mojito and soft taco meal for those vaccinated.
How to redeem: Flash them your vaccine card or status on MySejahtera to claim your meal.
Validity: The deal is valid until further notice, according to its terms and conditions.
Vanilla Crepe
Vanilla Crepe has a buy 1, free 1 promotion for their mille crepe cakes from participating outlets in Paradigm Mall, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity, SS15, IOI City Mall, and Mid Valley.
The deal: Buy a slice of cake from their store and get a second slice for free.
How to redeem: Show your vaccine card or status on MySejahtera to its team.
Validity: The offer has no expiry date, according to the brand’s post.
Bo The Avocado
Another freebie you can claim if you’re vaccinated is from Bo The Avocado that’s giving out their avocado smoothies. However, this deal is limited to 10 cups per day, per outlet at TTDI and Wisma Central, KL. It will also be given out on a first-come-first-serve basis for walk-in customers only.
The deal: Get a free avocado beverage upon getting vaccinated.
How to redeem: To claim, you must:
- Share their post on your Insta Stories, tag @bo.the.avocado with the hashtag, #LindungDiriLindungSemua.
- Then, DM them your vaccination certificate.
- Your email or Instagram ID will be noted down by their team as a point of verification.
Validity: From May 24 to September 30, 2021.
Soyya
Soyya is giving out a free drink to those who’ve been vaccinated at any of their outlets at The Gardens Mall, Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Velocity, and Berjaya Times Square. This deal is also valid for takeaways only.
The deal: Get a free cup of fresh and pure soy milk at any of their outlets.
How to redeem: You know the drill, flash your vaccine card or MySejahtera status.
Validity: Offer is valid within 10 days from your vaccination day. The overall deadline is not stated.
Peekaboo Cafe
Peekaboo Cafe wants to thank those who’ve been vaccinated by giving away a free slice of cheesecake.
The deal: Claim your free slice of cheesecake from their store in KL.
How to redeem: Just show them your MySejahtera vaccine status to claim.
Validity: N/A.
Wizards at Tribeca (expired offer)
Wizards at Tribeca wants to show their support for the COVID-19 vaccination programme by offering a buy 1, free 1 deal when you purchase a coffee from them. This deal is only available for takeaways.
The deal: Buy 1 item at its regular retail price and receive a second free item of equal or less value.
How to redeem: Redeem this deal by showing them your vaccine card or status on MySejahtera.
Validity: The offer ends on May 30, 2021.
Deals for those who’ve registered, but have not been vaccinated
Of course, there are many of those who’ve tried really hard to get their vaccinations, but luck wasn’t on their side and they barely even made it past choosing their state while registering for AZ.
But fret not, so long as you can show you’ve registered for a COVID-19 vaccine, there are still some deals for you too.
Esyms
Online pharmacy Esyms is giving away vouchers to purchase healthcare essentials if you’ve registered for the COVID-19 vaccine.
The deal: Claim an RM30 voucher to buy pharmaceutical products from their platform and get them delivered to you.
How to redeem: Sign up with your email and attach the screenshot of your registration from MySejahtera. A unique promo code will be sent to you within 24 hours.
Validity: Expires on June 14, 2021.
CocoAffair
Small-time chocolate store, CocoaAffair is running a promotion for their confectioneries to those who’ve registered and have gotten an appointment date for their vaccination. This promotion is only applicable for delivery within KL and PJ.
The deal: 50% off for 1 unit of their Handmade Chocolate Box Set (worth RM140) that includes 48 pieces of bite-sized chocolates.
How to redeem: Show them a screenshot of your vaccine appointment date.
Validity: This deal is valid until August 31, 2021.
Jobbie Nut Butter
Jobbie Nut Butter is giving out discounts to those who’ve registered for the COVID-19 vaccine. This deal is only applicable for purchases of peanut butters or gift sets on their website, and the maximum amount you can redeem per order is RM50.
They are only giving out a total of 6,806 redemptions over their campaign period on a first-come-first-serve basis. This specific number was chosen because it was the highest number of COVID-19 cases the country recorded at the time of their promotion announcement on May 20, 2021.
The deal: Those who’ve registered can get a 50% discount on the brand’s peanut butter.
How to redeem: Login or sign up for an account here, and attach a screenshot of your profile page and vaccine registration from the MySejahtera app.
Validity: Only 6,806 deals are available on a first-come-first-serve basis during their campaign period that’s between May 21 to June 20, 2021.
Sunway Pyramid (expired offer)
To show its support for the national vaccination programme, Sunway Pyramid is giving out hand sanitisers to those who’ve registered for the COVID-19 vaccine. You can redeem this freebie at the Main Concierge, located on the Ground Floor.
The deal: The mall is giving out a free 50 ml bottle of Lifebuoy hand sanitiser if you’ve registered for the vaccine.
How to redeem: Flash your vaccine registration in the MySejahtera app.
Validity: While stocks last, from March 22 to March 31, 2021.
1 Utama (expired offer)
1 Utama is offering a ONECARD membership (worth RM30) to those who’ve registered for the COVID-19 vaccine. It’s essentially a loyalty programme that allows you to collect points when you shop in partnering stores, which can be converted into car park credit.
The deal: Get a free ONECARD membership that’s valid for 5 years.
How to redeem: Flash your MySejahtera registration status, present your MyKad, and fill up the ONECARD Application Form at the mall’s Customer Service Centres. Check out the full T&Cs here.
