Lipsticks can be used to enhance one’s beauty, act as a confidence booster, or even for its user to exercise creativity and express their individualism.

I personally think that my makeup look is only completed by my lipstick, making it the most important makeup product I have.

Thus, I can be quite picky with lipsticks. It has to be the right shade mixed with the right colours. I also usually pay close attention to the ingredients when choosing a lipstick.

Approved ingredients would include organic waxes, oils, and plant butters, to name a few. Then there’s pricing to think about, whereby my personal budget for a single lipstick is anywhere under RM80, and no more than that.

You can probably name quite a few popular, international beauty brands that might fit all my requirements, but turns out, the Malaysian cosmetics scene is well-equipped to cater to such demands as well.

Here’s a non-exhaustive list of Malaysian cosmetic brands that are proving they have what it takes to be suitable (or even preferred) alternatives for popular lipstick brands.
