This Fortitude Budget will be funded out of past reserves -- this is the second draw on past reserves this financial year.
This is to allow the government to respond quickly to any unforeseeable developments arising from Covid-19 in the coming months.
The President has given her in-principle support for a further draw of $31 billion from our past reserves to fund the measures in this Budget.
The 100,000 opportunities will be spread over three areas – 40,000 jobs, 25,000 traineeships and 30,000 skills training courses.
This will cover all property types and will be credited in the July or August utilities bill.
This bonus aims to encourage more stallholders in hawker centres, wet markets, coffee shops and industrial canteens to use e-payments.
The Jobs Support Scheme will be enhanced to give all firms an additional month of wage support, and higher levels of support for severly impacted sectors.
The grant which will cost about S$2 billion, will be disbursed automatically to property owners from end-July.
This will include all businesses in the construction, marine and offshore, and process sectors.
The Budget will continue to support workers and businesses that remain affected by border closures and safe distancing measures.
