LINE, one of the world’s leading mobile platform with 340 million users, has just released its Theme Shop to its Android users. With the new theme shop, Android users can now customize their LINE chat visuals.
Since first introduced in June 2013, the LINE Themes have been downloaded more than 200 million times by LINE users around the world to add a personal touch to their chat settings with the favorite LINE characters, Cony and Brown.
The new Theme Shop adds more variety to the user’s choice of themes: users can get Sally and Leonard LINE character themes for 150 LINE coins. It will also add Hello Kitty and Rilakkuma themes in the near future, with plans to expand its lineup of popular characters. Users can also purchase themes from the LINE Web Store and send to their LINE friends as a gift.
At this point of time, LINE themes are only supported by the iPhone and Android versions of the LINE app. Theme gift function will be available after the iOS update, and currently, iPhone users can only send Theme gifts to friends via the Web Store only.
In a separate development, LINE has continued to expand its global reach and is now available globally on Firefox Marketplace. In Spain, Mexico, Uruguay, Peru, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Brazil, the Firefox version of LINE will be available exclusively to customers of Telefónica, one of the largest private telecom companies in the world.
In other global regions including Singapore, all Firefox platform users can now enjoy LINE.
Other than new developments on its Android app and the Firefox update, LINE has also expanded “physically”. First reported by The Next Web, Line now has its first ‘theme park’. The temporary show opened in Taiwan last month and will run until April 27. However, unlike other theme parks, LINE’s version is more of a larger scale version of Line’s Pop Up stores, which includes statues of characters, a model town, artwork and other photogenic props.
The first of its kind LINE Theme Park is located at the NTSEC 7th Floor East/South Temporary Exhibition Galleries. You can visit it every weekday from 9am to 5pm and every weekend at 9am to 6pm. The entrance fee is TWD250 for adults, and TWD220 for senior citizens, students and children.
LINE really is expanding very very quickly.
