A few months ago, Shopee launched ShopeeFood in Indonesia and Malaysia, and it is very likely that its food delivery service will be launching in Singapore next.

As mentioned in our previous article, one conclusive hint that signals ShopeeFood might expand to Singapore is that it was hiring for a product management role.

According to its job description, Shopee said that the new hire will have the opportunity to “drive conceptual and technical development of ShopeeFood product ideas, improve data accuracy, and better position ShopeeFood as the preferred food delivery platform in the region.”

One of its key roles is to lead and design the roadmap for ShopeeFood products, effectively review input and stakeholders’ evolving needs to enhance current product features, as well as propose new products, and ensure alignment with all stakeholders.

That was the one and only role available for ShopeeFood in Singapore.

However, a recent check on Shopee’s career page today revealed that it is hiring for another new role for ShopeeFood in Singapore: UI/UX Designer.

The UI/UX designer for ShopeeFood team will help drive the end-to-end design process of ShopeeFood products.

He/she will get to lead the design process for its e-commerce products (both mobile and web) to serve the local market, and help develop clear and effective user interfaces to achieve both product and business goals.

In total, there are currently 71 available ShopeeFood positions within the company globally. The bulk of them are for ShopeeFood positions based in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Vietnam, and Bangkok in Thailand.

As ShopeeFood ramps up hiring in these three cities, there’s a high chance that Shopee has also earmarked them as its next launch locations.
