Singapore telehealth startup Doctor Anywhere (DA) unveiled today (January 19) its new office space and plans to expand its team by 50 per cent.

The new office occupies the entire penthouse unit on the 40th storey of mTower, spanning almost 15,000 sq ft.

“As we continue our growth, DA will be adding over 200 roles before the end of 2022, doubling our current headcount in Singapore. This new space will continue to foster our collaborative spirit as we continually provide healthcare to users anytime, anywhere,” said Doctor Anywhere’s CEO Wai Mun Lim.

This expansion comes after the startup raised S$88 million in its Series C round last August, and announced plans to expand across Southeast Asia.

The company has over 2.5 million customers across the region and recently acquired Thailand’s Doctor Raksa last November.

New office to facilitate hybrid work arrangements, employee wellbeing

According to Doctor Anywhere, the office will allow its employees to maintain a hybrid work arrangement with both online and physical meetings.

The new headquarter will cater to 70 per cent of the company’s workforce in Singapore. For context, it currently has around 200 employees in Singapore.

Some of the office’s features include six breakout rooms for collaboration, a boardroom and an outdoor roof terrace.

Aside from that, the Doctor Anywhere Training Academy, which hosts training sessions for frontline medical teams, will now operate from the new training room, enabling frontline colleagues to form connections with the HQ team.

The space will also facilitate various classroom opportunities for learning and development as employees return to the workplace.

Doctor Anywhere also shared that its new space also features open seating areas, encouraging employees to “strike up impromptu conversations, encouraging cross-team collaboration and inspiration.”

Employees will be able to destress at the company’s picturesque outdoor roof terrace spanning 153 sq meters with a sea-facing view. Aside from yoga sessions, the company has various other features for their employee’s wellbeing, including a relaxation corner with a massage chair, claw machine and foosball table.

“As the Doctor Anywhere team continues to grow, it was important for us to create a space where colleagues can feel relaxed and inspired. It’s been a pleasure to see the space come to life, and we cannot wait to welcome the whole DA team back when it’s safe to do so,” said Doctor Anywhere’s Vice-President of People and Culture Shux Mazur.

The new office will also facilitate the rollout of tele-supervised Antigen Rapid Tests (ART), a new service that is part of a pilot programme with the Ministry of Health.

With the service, users can complete their Covid-19 ART from home, under the watch of trained swab supervisors via a video call on the Doctor Anywhere app. Users will receive their certified ART results within four hours, which will be valid for pre-event and pre-departure tests, and for individuals returning on VTL flights.
