There is a gap in the Malaysian IT industry for junior-level professionals and fresh graduates to gain knowledge about their field’s market trends.
Hence, AppFuxion Consulting (AppFuxion) and Ethereal Digital came together to organise a free expo, called IMPULSE MY 2023 (IMPULSE).
IMPULSE is where IT professionals can join activities to learn soft skills, search for job opportunities, and gain industry insights on up-and-coming trends.The free expo will be held on January 7, 2023 at VE Hotel and Residence, Bangsar South, KL, and admissions are free.
About the organisers: AppFuxion is a Malaysian IT solutions company offering services like Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and software software quality assurance services to clientele like Bank Islam, Prudential, Eco World, and more.
Ethereal Digital is a software development solutions company that focuses on Microsoft tools and products. It also creates cloud-based customer relationship management (CRM) tools for websites and software, and customised solutions for companies to digitalised their operations.
Benefitting IT professionals at various levels
Ethereal Digital’s Director, Brian Soon, shared that IMPULSE was created to build an annual knowledge-sharing space for Malaysia’s IT industry.
Professionals in various IT roles such as AI, IoT, cloud, blockchain, and cybersecurity, can come together to learn from one another, as everyone has something to gain:
- IT students can learn about industry insights through conferences;
- Fresh grads and jobseekers can explore opportunities at the expo’s job fair;
- Junior-level professionals can hone their soft skills via training activities on-site;
- Senior management and companies can share their knowledge, and attract talent to build their teams.
3 rooms, each with a purpose
IMPULSE will be happening from 9AM to 6PM, and the activities will be carried out in three different rooms.
Those interested to learn about market trends in Malaysia can join the conferences taking place at the Achieve Hall.
One of the talks will feature representatives from Bank Islam. They will discuss digital banking, and how such solutions can forgo the need for physical banks.
Bank Islam’s Be U (a digital banking app) is an example of this development. The digital bank is where consumers can apply for loans, open a bank account, and more, all from their phones.
The gig economy will be a focus topic in another conference. AppFuxion’s founder, Mr. Jimmy Wong will be sharing about Fuxion Spark , a freelance marketplace, streamlining the labour market today.
Meanwhile, IMPULSE MY 2023 will also be hosting professional development activities for those keen on picking up leadership and management skills at the conference’s Invent Room.
Workshops on “The Coloured Brain”, and LEGO Serious Play will take place.
Management consultant, Davidson Abishegam from Monash University, will coach participants on The Coloured Brain.
It’s a psychometric test that teaches communication and management tools to help teams boost their productivity.
Furthermore, LEGO Serious Play is a workshop designed for adults to prompt dialogue, encourage reflection, and develop problem-solving skills through the use of imagination. The workshop is said to be a valuable asset in business and education, as it helps participants open up through the medium of play.
Jobseekers attending IMPULSE 2023 can also come prepared with their resumes. There will be interview sessions conducted by local IT companies taking place at the conference’s job fair in the Strive Room, and Foyer Lounge.
Some participating companies include Bank Islam’s Be U, Digital Omnis Consulting, and SNS Network.

Growing Malaysia’s IT industry as a whole

IMPULSE 2023 will kick off for the first time ever, and the organisers are making it free to join.
