Singapore based dating app Paktor, has just shared that during the first two weeks of 2014, they have matched a total of a quarter of a million people on its app.
Its newsletter read:
A record QUARTER of a MILLION people were matched in the first 2 weeks of 2014! Thank you for making Paktor the #1 social networking app for singles in Asia .
That’s really a lot of successful matches, in just two weeks.
In case you have not came across the dating app, Paktor allows you to simply flip through profiles of other users and, for each one, click either “yes” (I like what I see) or “skip” (show me the next profile). When the answer is “yes,” the other user is notified and has the opportunity to respond. Paktor has a simple two-click registration/confirmation process that utilizes the user’s existing Facebook account, thus giving freedom to new users to immediately begin browsing for new friends.
Earlier in December, the company also announced that it has organized the world’s largest speed dating event ever in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, breaking the Guinness World Record. The company also revealed that since its launch in June 2013, it has seen over 100 million profile ratings and 500,000 matches then.
It definitely looks like Paktor is doing a good job hooking singles up with one another.
Recently, Malaysia based dating app Kehmistry is also gearing up for its upcoming launch. The social dating app made in Singapore and Malaysia, uses your phone’s geolocation and identifies singles around you. With Paktor slowly capturing all of the “singles” market around the region, Kehmistry is definitely looking at a tough fight against Paktor.
Of course, Kehmistry’s cofounder Shanker also told Vulcan Post that they see themselves as an entirely different app from Paktor. Also, dating app or mobile apps are not a zero sum game, as users can sign up on multiple dating apps.
So don’t be surprised if you see the same guy or girl on both Paktor or Kehmistry, or Love Out Loud for that matter too.
For now, most of them seemed to be looking around on Paktor: 250,000 successful matches in 2 weeks!
