The festive tidings of Christmas are upon us and you know what that means—family gatherings, large feasts, and the joy of giving (and receiving) gifts.

And I don’t know about you, but I’m someone who prefers to have such occasions in the comfort of intimate settings, like home or a private space.

But with end-of-year celebrations and professional workloads piling up, it can be a headache to plan the food aspect. And if your group isn’t large enough, catering can lean on the unnecessarily pricey end.

So we’ve compiled a list of restaurants to get this off your hands. Here are eight restaurants in the Klang Valley offering Christmas takeaways.

1. Red Kettle

Started by three friends passionate about good food and coffee, Red Kettle states that its menu combines both Western and Asian flavours to create a culinary medley.

This holiday, though, it seems that they’re focusing on giving customers a taste of Christmas. Part of its Christmas Takeaway Feasts menu includes:

  • Pork knuckle (±1.5KG) at RM270
  • Oink roll (±1KG) at RM320
  • Lamb shoulder rack (±1KG) at RM290
  • Frozen tiramisu (±1KG) at RM269.90
  • Christmas fruitcake (±400g) at RM89.90
  • Black forest loaf cake (±700g) at RM129.90

All the meats come with a selection of complimentary sides and sauces, such as root vegetables and homestyle gravy.

2. Maria’s Steakcafe

  • Wagyu MB5 tomahawk steak (±1.5KG) at RM1,590

  • Angus beef wellington with foie gras (±1.3KG) at RM1,150
  • Angus beef wellington (±1.3KG) at RM930
  • Roast lamb (±2KG) at RM870

Each of these sets comes with complimentary sides, such as Caesar salad, spaghetti chicken bolognese, roasted potatoes, creamed spinach, and prune loaf for dessert.

Unlike others in this list, customers can only choose for self pick-up. So if you want to have it delivered, then you’ll have to make your own arrangements. Do keep in mind that orders need to be made at least two days in advance, and the cut-off time is at 5PM.

4. The Butcher’s Table

With a theme of “12 Feasts for 12 Days of Christmas”, The Butcher’s Table is adding traditional goodness to this season. Using homemade recipes passed down for generations, its website confidently states that the food will be as good as the festive reunion.

There are two family bundles to choose from, namely:

  • Clucking Good Time (RM599) which serves 4 to 6 pax – Whole roast kampung chicken, pork stuffing, and whole honey baked ham

Both of these come with sides like crispy English roast pork, sausages, roasted potatoes, and garden green salad. The meal is also paired with housemade sauces like apple, cranberry, and red wine.

However, if you prefer ordering ala carte or mixing and matching your own set, that is also an option.

Currently, The Butcher’s Table has five stores in Sri Hartamas, Bukit Mertajam, SS2, Ipoh Garden South, and Bayan Lepas respectively. On offer until December 31, 2023, the availability for each item differs based on your chosen location.
