Hello Readers! This is the second last Monday of 2014. We hope it has been a good year for you so far! It’s been a pretty good year for us, if we do say so ourselves. If your new year resolutions for 2014 aren’t doing so good, we’ve compiled a list of apps to help you do better for next year.
Christmas came early for Microsoft lovers, when it made Sway, a previously invite-only app for creating presentations free for all. Instagram has had a bumpy week, from it’s release of three new filters after two years, to unleashing the wrath of Instagram fans everywhere after removing millions of spam accounts. Facebook’s proposal of introducing a ‘dislike’ button also made the news, along with a review of the slimmest phone in the world: Oppo R5.
In Singapore, LTA released a hilariously useless taxi app that doesn’t really do anything helpful and followed up a few days later by saying that there will be an update that will link it to third-party apps. We also wrote a review on ETScoot, a $3,000 electric scooter hoping to make itself the new form of transportation in Singapore, and the launch of Blackberry classic in Singapore.
Malaysia had another funny week when Magnum 4D fans swarmed the Magnum ice cream facebook page to troll it following a hapless man’s silly mistake. One the other hand, Malaysia’s ministry came up with a horrifying declaration that made selling on Instagram and Facebook illegal for individuals without business permits. If you’re itching for a unique travelling experience, take a look at the 10 unique accommodations you can book in Malaysia for your year end vacation.
